The Italy We Imagine was a creative writing workshop designed to open up a space of mutual curiosity between Italians and Austrians across generations.
We read, we wrote, we listened — going beyond clichés to explore what “Italy” means when experienced, remembered, or imagined.
Built on the Reading and Writing method, the workshop invited participants to reflect on language, identity, and the stories we carry with us.

Goal: Reconnecting with presence, exploring emotion through breath, movement, and language
We met outdoors, on yoga mats, with pens instead of phones.
Balance on Paper was more than a creative writing workshop — it was a pause.
We moved, we breathed, and then we wrote: about resilience, self-love, and what it means to show up for yourself.
Gentle prompts guided participants to capture sensations without judgment — just presence, words, and a little courage.
- Then we wrote — not to perform, but to feel.
- The themes? Fostering Resilience through Gratitude. Cultivating Patience & Self-Kindness. elf-Love and Empowerment.
- The outcome? Deeper presence on the mat and on the page.

Multilingual Creative Writing with prompts in German and English
The workshop focuses on the mother tongue and its relationship with other languages that we know for different reasons and in different contexts (family, work, holidays, study, etc.). This time I created writing prompts focusing on different possible experiences you can have with foreign languages in life.

Freewriting and final discussion about Civil courage in everyday life, Climate activism, The power of words, Sustainability in everyday life. In this situation the most effective writing prompt lead to a very passionate discussion about the meaning of the word “Zivilgesellschaft” and how everybody understands civil courage and experiences that in everyday life.
